BlizzCon ’15

And already another year has passed. BlizzCon 2015 brought very interesting news on all fronts. Now in-case you aren’t aware I am a huge World of Warcraft fan and I love playing a lot of the other Blizzard games as well. I have been playing World of Warcaft for many years now but still really only play on one character, Trigne a shadow priest, and have a banker character, Juho a retribution paladin, who I have been recently upgrading more. So this year there were many wonderful announcements for all the Blizzard games and I just wanted to share some of my thoughts on the announcements.

The Addiction Continues

The Lore of the Shadow Priest Trigne

As Blizcon 2014 takes place I honor the game with a short three part story I wrote. It follows the World of Warcraft character I have, Trigne who I have been playing for many years now. It also has a few excerpts from events that happened to me in game. I hope you enjoy and I might write more later with the new expansion pack coming.

The Awesome Pixar Theory

The other night I was kind of bored and wanted a good movie to watch. After looking through all of dvds (if you have seen my collection you know I have a decent choice) and I chose a movie that doesn’t get old and is very very good, Incredibles. Pixar has made many movies and sequels and I am still trying to figure out why the Incredibles has yet to see a sequel. So while I was watching it I did altitude research on IMDb and then online. I randomly stumbled on something interesting, an article talking about fan theories to Pixar movies the main one called the Pixar theory by Jon Negroni.

Guess who’s back, back again…

Trigne is back! For those of you who don’t know, Trigne is my one and really only World of Warcraft character. I do have a banker as well but primarily I am playing with Trigne. I became bored after work recently and honestly have needed a big escape from reality recently thanks to my personal and work lives. We all need an escape from time to time and this is mine.

SDCC ’14

San Diego Comic – Con 2014 is over and there was so much awesome swag that has been coming up on eBay from it. I wish I could have gone this year but hopefully next year I can head out there and really enjoy myself. SourceFed has done a wonderful job this year showing off all of the awesome collectables and gear. The costumes where also really amazing this year. Halo and Legend of Zelda had some awesome trailers released.

Springfieldians rejoice for Marathon

20140725-012126-4886222.jpg

OMG OMG OMG it is almost here; the longest marathon in history (TV history that is!)! In a true Springfieldian manner, the longest marathon is not one of running but of sitting on the sofa and watching TV and drinking a Duff. The Simpsons will air on FXX in chronological order all 25 seasons. That is 552 episodes and the Simpsons Movie will be included in the marathon and also will air chronologically after episode No. 400. The marathon begins at 10 AM ET on August 21 and ends at midnight ET on September 1; 12 glorious days!

A Nerds Dream Weekend

This weekend is one any Nerd would enjoy, not only did Free Comic Book Day fall on this weekend but the following day was May 4th. For those of you who may not know May 4th is also known as May the Fourth Be with You in reference to Star Wars. There is also Revenge of the Fifth with conveniently and ironically lands on Monday. Also on May 4th, a very special episode of the Simpsons aired where they were all Legos. This weekend was a dream for me because I really let myself go and Geeked out all weekend.

My collection.

One of my New Years resolutions for this year was to start collection something. I have been playing World of Warcraft for a long time and put a lot of energy and money into the game for achievements. Along with those achievements are rare and unique mounts and titles that have taken a long time to acquire and/or a lot of money to unlock. The same goes with the Simpsons Tapped Out game. I have spent a lot more money thank I care to admit on these two games but after looking back I would say I have spent over $3000 on just those two games. Yes I know a waste of money and I will agree. The biggest problem with these two collections is that it is all virtual, I can not sell them later in life and if the game no longer supported one day then good bye.

AwesomeCon 2014

20140420-220852.jpg
This weekend AwesomeCon was held in DC and since I have never had the chance or availability to attend any Con except via online such as BlizzCon or ComicCon in LA. I was hoping to find people to go with since I had never been to one before and I was honestly a little nervous. This was the second year of this con and already it had a lot of different panels to choose from and even a nerdy speed dating which I thought was interesting. Since my schedule was already packed I really had to pick and choose what I saw and when.

An Unexpected Long Weekend

And DC Metro area was struck with yet another snow storm. This one dumped a solid 6 inches on Monday meaning everything was closed and I had an extra day to relax and regroup from a very stressful week at work. Someone please tell the CIA to stop messing with their weather control machine… I am getting sick of these one day 60 degree weather and next is snowing…

Minecraft…

So I have avoided Minecraft for one simple reason, not to get addicted… well I finally downloaded it earlier this month and have been really enjoying my time mining through stone, killing pigs and getting pushed into lava by zombies. This game really challenged my rage-quit control; I have started many new maps as I learn the game and tricks. I have also had to rely heavily on youtube to learn how to use redstone (an electric current type of rock) and how to get my minecarts moving on the track.

Na Na Na Na Na Na Batkid

For a day this week San Francisco transformed in to the legendary Gotham City. Saving the day while raising the spirits of a major U.S. city was pint-sized Miles Scott, 5. Miles is in remission from leukemia, and, thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, managed to turn his obsession with comic book heroes into the real thing. Well, almost. There was no way Penguin and Riddler were going to get away with anything on Friday. The city was touched by Batkid and by taking down the Penguin and Riddler he brought the power of what one young kid can do to touch our hearts.

End of an addiction.

For close to 7 years I have played World of Warcraft. With some lulls and months I limit my use I am still over 330 days worth of logged in game play on a single character, Trigne. I have not logged in however for over 3 months and just don’t feel like going back. I still picked up my virtual blizzcon ticket to see what is announced and the costume contests. Even with the new announcement of an expansion pack I am hesitant to come running back.

Nintendo Star Wars

Like most people, I love it when different things I enjoy are incorporated into each other and contain easter-eggs for real fans. This video is just another example of that, Nintendo meets Star Wars. Taking parts of Nintendo characters such as Link as Luke Skywalker, this fan made video really uses both genres to make an amazing eight minute video. I hope you all enjoy this one as much as I did and hope that we can see follow up sequels soon.

Simpsons, Simpsons Tapped Out

RIP Marcia Wallace aka Edna

simpsons-10

As reported around the world yesterday the talented actress Marcia Wallace has unfortunately passed from this world. We have truly lost not only a bright light and special person from “The Simpsons” universe but a great and unique human being as well. Marcia was the Emmy award winning actress who voiced Edna Krabappel and seeing as Al Jean announced that the producers would “retire her irreplaceable character” I thought it fitting to make this article a tribute to both the woman and the character we loved.

Treehouse of Horror

20131002-004847.jpg
For the last 24 years the Simpsons have honored Halloween by doing an episode full of horror stories. This has become a yearly tradition and I always look forward to these episodes. Usually the episode features three short Halloween inspired stories using characters from the show. Even the couch gag falls into line with the episode and this year it has plenty of easter-eggs from previous years.

Koopa Bros. TMNT

I absolutely love this video that mixes up two great franchises. It is a great mass-up of Mario Bros. and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Hidden gems like these on the internet can really make my day and it is a briliant idea. This video is so funny and I wont spoil anything but the characters they chose to play others is just so hilarious especially Luigi. I hope you enjoy this find because I surely did.
